Here in Verbier, the Chalet Apartment Rentals team has greatly enjoyed the Christmas and new year celebrations. To kickstart 2017, we are delighted to announce some of the exciting events taking place over the next 12 months in Verbier.
This ski resort is packed with Swiss spirit all year round, and our calendar showcases the experiences – you don’t want to miss out!
The scenic outlook of the treasured village keeps visitors returning year after year, and as a playground with little limits – mountain lovers, hikers, golfers and holiday lovers can start planning getaways and booking Verbier accommodation around the range of exhilarating events that are taking place in 2017!
Live music at La Farinet
January 4th – April 9th
A great spot for cocktails, wines and champagnes, La Farinet is an essential apres ski stop. Complete with a log fire and live DJ’s playing every night during the winter heading into the spring, this is a perfect venue for vacationers and locals. Every day until April 9th, the bar puts on some fantastic live music entertainment, so make sure you’re there to get into the party spirit and experience the natural resonance of Verbier.
The musical time machine at Pub Mont Fort
January 5th – April 13th
Each Thursday from January through to April, Pub Mont Fort will be taking you on a journey through musical time! Expect everything from 60’s classics through to 90’s hip-hop and up to the present day. A traditional Verbier favourite, Mont Fort contains a large terraced area and blended with the informal atmosphere, this spot is a great place to get your dancing shoes on.
Improve your fitness with Apres-Ski fitness classes
January 9th – January 30th
Sticking to new year’s resolutions can be difficult, and one for many is to get fit and introduce consistent exercise into daily life; what better place to get fit than the wondrous, mountainous village of Verbier? The fitness classes will take place at The Brasserie Le Bex and are based around functional fitness and designed to improve agility, all ready for the slopes!
Verbier Freeride Week
January 16th – January 22nd
Competitions for Verbier Freeride Week will take place in on the snow-capped mountains of Verbier as well as Bruson, La Tzoumaz, and Vichères. The Verbier Qualifier Week offers amateur riders the chance to compete in as many events as they desire. maintain the fantastic atmosphere throughout the week with epic parties every night!
Bruson Freeride Competition
For the qualifying rounds of the world tour, 120 riders will compete on 2 runs down the steep and rocky terrain, but that’s not the only bit of entertainment! After parties begin around 4pm with movie screenings, live music and barbeque. A guaranteed day of joy awaits you this February!
Valentine’s Day in Verbier

This magical touring race is open for people of all ages to enjoy and takes place in pairs to enter one of the races below. Registrations are open now, so learn more about Verbier and embark upon a friendly and fun ski tour from Lourtier to Rogneux in this mountainous wonderland adventure.

St Patrick’s Day in Verbier
Whether you’re Irish or a lover of the Irish, Verbier is the place to be on St Patrick’s Day if you’re looking to be served green beverages and experience all day and all night parties across the deluxe village within an array of bars and venues.
Xtreme Verbier Freeride World Tour Final
The final stop of the freeride world tour will reveal the king and queen of the freeride world! With Verbier locals taking part and a show of the world’s best freeride snowboarders and skiers, you can even check out the junior skiers who will be the future experts to watch. This event takes place on the stunning Col des Gentianes / Bec des Rosses and is certainly not one to miss!
Verbier High Five by Carlsberg
Verbier High Five is a flagship events during the winter! Test your performance on the powder, or party with the stars of the white circus! The Giant Slalom, Speed Skiing run, Ski Cross and Trampoline, all led by DJ and a live concert in the middle of the afternoon. After the event, the party continues with After-ski, concert and BBQ at the Pub Mont-Fort in Verbier station.
Combat de Reines
The cows competing are an ancient breed containing a highly competitive temperament. Swiss cow fighting takes place on high mountain pastures and the ‘Queen’ becomes the herd’s leader for the Summer! Annually drawing many breeders and large audiences, injuries are extremely rare and the two day competition takes place just outside the village in Le Chable.
July 18th – August 6th
The renowned international music festival takes place across two weeks and boasts the sounds of masterful symphonies and world-famous classical composers. Set against a striking mountainous panorama, this remarkable annual event showcases musicians and aspiring artists from across the globe.
Swiss National Day
Since 1891, August 1st has been celebrated as the national day of Switzerland and is celebrated in Verbier with a concert, fireworks and food – this is anticipated to be a truly special day for the residents and visitors of the resort.
Horse Jumping International
August 17th – 21st
Discover the best horse riders from 20 different countries competing in the prestigious equestrian competition within an impressive arena of world class standard. This event attracts both amateur and professional horse riders and is spaced out over 5 days in the heart of Verbier.
September 23rd – 24th
A variety of ski resorts and hotels across Switzerland dedicate evenings to their own raclette! This semi-firm cheese is heated and scraped on to vegetables, onions, potatoes and more. Raclette parties are part of the Swiss culture and this year, Le Chable is hosting its very own event to showcase the raclette of the local cheese producers. Prepare for music and LOTS of dreams this September!
