18th April 2017
This year’s Freeride World Tour Verbier, took place on 1-9 April 2017, marking the tenth competition in the FWT season.
The Swiss town of Verbier has been home to this spectacular event for over 20 years.
A range of world-class skiers and snowboarders attended the Freeride World Tour Verbier, with a cracking turnout from the locals and visitors.
An exciting end to the event, participants competed for the season’s winning last runs on one of the world’s most dangerous, challenging mountain faces.
However, this year’s events a change of location, when the famous Bec des Rosses was deemed unsafe for contestants. A crack was discovered at the very top of the face, which warned of unstable snow.
With the safety of the riders as their top priority, event organisers decided to move slightly down the face.
With the new gates set up, there seemed to be excitement in the air for the contestants as a new world of lines and opportunities opened up.
