Verbier is a beautiful place. Every day we count our blessings that we get to live our lives in this wonderland. The ski, the food, the people; beautiful in every sense of the word. And during Christmas, this place only elevates more. That’s why we’re going to take the time to speak to you about coming to Verbier this Christmas.
Christmas has a stereotypical image: snow, reindeers, and Santa. People always want to be somewhere where these things roam during Christmas. That’s why there are songs such as I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas and hundreds of articles close to Christmas saying whether it will snow or not. This image, it’s so synonymous with Christmas, when we don’t get such things on Christmas day it upsets us. And that’s why you should come and join us.
Why come to Verbier this Christmas
Verbier’s propitious location means come Winter the place is abundant with rich snowfall. There’s nothing quite like waking up to snow over the Christmas period; it feels one with overwhelming joy.
Wake up, see the snow, head outside, shiver your way into a warming bar. Get a hot chocolate. Watch the steam rise. Perhaps even get a beer; that’ll warm you up. No? Well, how about a mulled wine, or as they call it here, vin chaud. Very festive.
Call us crazy, but we believe you can’t put a price on enjoying a nice warming drink when you’re amongst copious amounts of snow. It’s one of the most enjoyable experiences in the season of cold.
The snow most certainly isn’t the only attraction here during December. Coincidentally (not really), this time of year is also our peak season for skiing and snowboarding. So, even if you came here purely for these beautiful planes of white, why not grab a couple of skis or a board – things we can supply in our rented accommodation – and utilise them on a level that goes beyond aesthetics!
The ski in Verbier is one of the best in the world. You can learn here on the nursery slopes; you can exert your superiority on our off-piste slopes. There’s something for everyone here.
Although the festive theme here is somewhat understated (a fact we’re very proud of), many bars and restaurant do sprinkle their menus with some festive classics – like vin chaud for example.
If you want to get a table close to Christmas at one these fine eateries that do theme their menu, you’re going to have to book in advance. They get very, very busy! You don’t want to miss out of these wonders!
Away From Your Advert Heavy Home
Christmas can be very commercial in many places. For some, this is a rather suffocating. Here, our Christmas is an awfully magic time: as you know, the snow comes in abundance, we have a lovely authentic market, the food is delightful, and the ski is at its peak. But most importantly, the Christmas here is very organic; it’s not oversaturated with commercialism, like most other places.
So, if you’re after a Christmas that’s a bit different to the materialistic version that most of us usually experience, come on over to these awe-inducing lands.
Verbier, New Year’s Eve
