Plans For Verbier Ski Resort And 21/22 Season Announced

With the 20/21 Verbier ski season coming to a close, we bring you up to speed with plans to develop the ski resort before the start of the 21/22 ski season. This season has been challenging at times due to covid-19 restrictions, but those that have managed to get out on the slopes have enjoyed some amazing weather and ski experiences.

We’re so excited with what the 21/22 Verbier ski season could bring (hopefully coronavirus restrictions will be lifted somewhat by this stage) that we’re already looking ahead to how this world-renowned ski resort might shape up. Here, we share Téléverbier’s announcement that the company is sticking to its investment roadmap in the face of the adversity, brought about by the pandemic, and go into detail about the specific plans for Verbier ski resort.

New Spending For Verbier Ski Resort

Téléverbier’s board of directors have agreed to proceed with plans that were made for Verbier resort. Such plans will see increased spending in key areas of the resort, which will ultimately lead to better on and off piste ski experiences for Verbier’s visitors and residents. Here is an overview of the projects that Téléverbier has set out to complete by the start of the 20/21 ski season in Verbier:

• The Médran 1 ski lift will be replaced with an all new 10-seater Gondola. This Gondola will double the flow between Médran and Les Ruinettes, enabling more skiers or snowboarders to use the travel route at once.
• An upgrade of the snowmaking cannons between Lac des Vaux and Les Ruinettes. These improvements to snowmaking will enable better usage of the early season and cold weather periods. In turn, this will hopefully improve the chances of having guaranteed skiing in early December, here in Verbier.
• The construction of the Chargerat ski lift.
• In 2022, Téléverbier has plans to upgrade the Pasay chairlift in Bruson.
• The occurrence of all of these improvements happening is dependent on whether the necessary authorisations can be obtained on schedule. If they are, Téléverbier is set to outlay significant investment in the Verbier ski resort.
