Switzerland World Cup Round-Up
It’s here, The World Cup has arrived. And although most bookies have Switzerland at 125/1 to win the tournament – meaning you’ll win £125 if you bet £1 for those not in the know – spirits are high. Why wouldn’t they be? We drew with Brazil in the first game! The month-long event is great for a healthy nationalism; the type that makes strangers friends and implores the entirety of a bar to sing in harmony.
As spirits are high, we’re going to be running through Switzerland’s world cup campaign.
The kit is the first thing you see in totality, and therefore, is the first thing teams can compete in. There are a lot of great kits this year. Like, for example, Nigeria’s. Nigeria’s kit has garnered wide support from all over the world, perhaps most so in London, where it sold out in three hours. People were apparently queueing all day.
Now, that kit is good, but it isn’t great. You know who has a great kit? Us, Switzerland, of course. The Swiss kit this year is beautiful. From its traditional colours all the way to intricate design; an all-in-all, beautiful kit. Dare we say we win this round?
No matter how prideful, we can’t in our right mind say we have the best team, because we don’t. Not even close to having the best team. But we do have some great players and we certainly have a lot of characters.
Like, for example, Shaqiri. Xherdan, although it ended with his team getting relegated, had a great season in the Premier League, offering firepower to a team with mostly none. He’s bound to light up the tournament.
And then we have Xhaka. Granit, although coming off a somewhat turbulent season, is a winner and certainly a character you want in your team. He’s bound to something for us.
We are in perhaps one of the toughest groups: E. Within this group lies the titan that is Brazil, and then two tough-to-play teams that are Costa Rica and Serbia. Whilst we’re a strong team, it will be no easy task getting out of our group, but we are believers here in Switzerland and we’re sure we will! Our draw against Brazil proves that!
Our World Cup Chances
Well, we’re going to win it, of course. But, are we? Yes, we are. Of course, we are. Switzerland 2018 World cup Winners.
