What Is Verbier Festival?

Verbier Festival is an event that celebrates the very best classical music talents from around the globe. It takes place annually, every summer, and is always held in the charming Swiss Alps – more specifically, Verbier. The festival was first held in 1994 and has since grown to become recognised as one of the most revered international music festivals in the world.

The festival attracts many visitors from Switzerland, but also many attendees from each continent. Verbier Festival has a renowned academy, from which unique classical music talents are discovered and developed. It is the Verbier Festival Academy that serves as the lifeblood for the event. During every Verbier Festival, more than 100 performances are delivered, each one as unique as the next.

We can’t introduce you to the festival without telling you about the Verbier Festival Orchestra. The orchestra consists of talented young musicians, aged between 18 and 28. It is made up of musicians from over 60 countries. For young classical musicians, the Verbier Festival Orchestra is seen as a rite of passage and witnessing so many special musicians perform at the same time truly is a sight to behold. That’s a bit about the history of the festival, now let’s look ahead to the 2021 edition.
